Dressed Up Dachshund Dog Weiner Dog Toy Crochet Pattern

Materials—Coats & Clark’s ONT Speed-Cro-Sheen Mercerized Cotton, Art. C.44,: 1 ball of No 12 Black and 2 Balls of No. 123-A Flamingo. Milwards Steel Crochet Cook, No. 2/0 (double zero). Scraps of black, white and red felt. 1/8 yard organdy material. Cotton batting (or polyester fiberfill, these days).

Gauge—11 sc make 2 inches and 11 rnds make 2 inches.


HEAD—Starting at nose with Flamingo, ch 4.

1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

2nd – 3rd Rows:
Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Now work in rnds as follows:

1st Rnd: Sc in next 2 sc (top), 2 sc in next sc (an inc—corner), make 5 sc closely along side edge; working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each ch across, 5 sc closely along edge at next side.

2nd Rnd: Inc 1 sc in next sc (corner), sc in next 2 sc, in 1 sc in next sc, sc in each remaining sc around.

Sc in each sc around, decreasing 8 sc evenly spaced—10 dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc at 1 sc. Repeat last rnd until 8 sts remain, at same time stuffing Head very firmly. Break off at end of last rnd, leaving a 10-inch strand. Thread into a needle and draw remaining sts together.

EAR—(Make 2)—Starting at center with Flamingo, ch 16.

1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ending with 3 sc in last ch (tip); now, working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

2nd Row: Sc in each sc around, making 2 sc in each sc of the 3-sc group at tip. Ch 1, turn.

3rd Row: Sc in each sc around, increasing 3 sc evenly spaced around tip. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 3rd row 3 more times. Break off at end of 6th row. Gather narrow ends of ears slightly and sew to sides of Head as illustrated.

BODY—Starting at neck with Black, ch 4. Join with a sl st to form a ring.

1st Rnd: 6 sc in ring.

2nd Rnd: 2 sc in each sc around.

3rd Rnd: * Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around.

4th Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 6 sc evenly spaced. Repeat 4th rnd until there are 36 sc on rnd.

Next Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 2 sc evenly spaced. Work without increasing until 19 rnds have been completed.

Next Rnd: (Dec 1 sc, sc in each of next 3 sc) 4 times; dec 1 sc (front section), sc in each remaining sc.

Following Rnd: Sc in each sc, decreasing 5 sc evenly spaced across front. Work without decreasing for 4 more rnds. Break off at end of last rnd. Attach Flamingo and continue to work without decreasing for 13 rnds.

Next Rnd: Sc in each sc around, decreasing 7 sc evenly spaced. Repeat last rnd until 7 sc remain, at the same time stuffing Body very firmly. Complete as for Head. Sew Head to Body as illustrated.

COAT TAIL (Make 2)—With Black, ch 16. Work as for Ear until 6 rows have been completed. Break off. Sew narrow ends of each Tail to last Black rnd on back of Body.

HIND LEG (Make 2): Staring at bottom with Flamingo, ch 2.

1st Rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

2nd Rnd: Sc in each sc around.

3rd Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 3 sc evenly spaced. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rnds alternately until there are 24 sc on rnd.

Next Rnd: Sc in each sc around, decreasing 6 sc evenly spaced. Repeat last rnd until 6 sc remain, stuffing Legs very firmly. Complete as for Body.

FRONT LEGS (Make 2)—Work as for Hind Leg until 4 rnds have been completed. Break off, attach Black and continue to work as for Hind Leg until there are 18 sc on rnd. Now dec as for Hind Leg and complete in same manner. Sew Legs to Body as illustrated.

TAIL—Starting at tip with Flamingo ch 2.

1st Rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.

2nd Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 1 sc. Repeat 2nd rnd until there are 12 sc on rnd. Work without increasing until tail measures 6 ½ inches in all. Break off. Stuff firmly and sew in place.

COLLAR—With pinking shears, cut organdy 4 by 22 inches. Fold length-wise in half and gather along the fold to fit around the neck. Sew in place.

Cut 2 white felt ovals for eyes. Sew in place. Cut 2 black circles for pupils and sew to eyes. Cut a black felt heart and sew to tip of nose. Free Crochet Pattern - Penquin Potholder




Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, Art. A.64: 2 balls of No. 12 Black and 1 ball of No. 1 White. A few yards of No. 10-A Canary Yellow and No. 43 Dk. Yellow. Steel Crochet Hooks No. 4 and No. 7. 1 bone or plastic ring. Padding material of your choice.

FRONT – Body: Starting at center with double strand of White and No. 4 hook, ch 30.
1st Rnd: 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, 3 sc in last ch; working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each ch across.
2nd Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 3 sc evenly on each end-to inc 1 sc, make 2 sc in 1 sc. Repeat 2nd rnd until piece measures 6 inches long. Break off.


SIDE PIECE: Mark off center sc at each end. Skip 4 sc from center sc.
1st Row: Attach double strand of Black to next sc and, picking up back loop of each sc, sc in each sc across to within 4 sc of center sc on opposite end. Ch 1, turn.
2nd - 7th Rows: Dec 1 sc-to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc-sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn. Break off. Complete other side to correspond.


RIGHT FLIPPER: Skip 18 free sc loops on last White row.
1st Row: Using No. 7 hook, attach a single-strand of Black and, picking up free loop of each sc, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn.
2nd Row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 7 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn.
3rd Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
4th Row: Repeat 2nd row.
5th Row: Dec 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
6th Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next 3 sc, dec 2 sc. Ch 1, turn.
7th Row: Work off 3 sc as 1 sc. Break off. Make Left Flipper to correspond.


HEAD: Starting at center with double strand of Black and No. 4 hook, ch 2.
1st Rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2nd Rnd: 2 sc in each sc around.
3rd Rnd: Sc in each sc, increasing 7 sc evenly around. Repeat 3rd rnd until piece measures 2 ¾ inches in diameter. Break off.


EYE: Starting at center with a single strand of White and No. 7 hook, ch 2.
1st Rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2nd Rnd: 2 sc in each sc around.
3rd Rnd: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Break off.


PUPIL: Using a single strand of Black and No. 7 hook, work as for Eye until 2 rnds have been completed. Break off. Sew Pupil to Eye, then Eye to Head. Sew Head to Body.


BEAK: Using a double strand of Canary Yellow and No. 4 hook, ch 7.
1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd Row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
3rd Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn.
4th - 5th Rows: Repeat 2nd row.
6th Row: Dec 2 sc.
7th Row: Dec 1 sc. Break off. Sew Beak in place.


FOOT (Make 2): Using a double strand of Canary Yellow and No. 4 hook, ch 4.
1st Row: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook. Ch 3, turn.
2nd Row: 2 dc in first dc, 3 dc in next dc, 3 dc in top of starting chain. Ch 3, turn.
3rd Row: Dc in first dc, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) twice; dc in next dc, dc in top of turning chain. Ch 4, turn.
4th Row: Dc in first dc, (half dc in next dc, dc in next dc, tr in next dc, dc in next dc) twice; half dc in next dc, dc in next dc, tr in top of turning chain. Break off. Embroider webbing on Feet with Dk. Yellow. Sew Feet in place.

BOW TIE: Using a single strand of Black and No. 7 hook, ch 12.
1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd - 5th Rows: Dec 1 sc, sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn.
6th Row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
7th - 8th Rows: Sc in each sc across, Ch 1, turn.
9th Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn.
10th Row: Repeat 6th row.
11th - 13th Rows: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
14th Row: Repeat 7th row. Break off. Sew in place.


BUTTON (Make 3): Using a single strand of Black and No. 7 hook, ch 2, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Break off. Sew in place.


BACK: Work as for Front, using double strand of Black for entire body and omitting eye, flipper, bow tie and buttons. Do not embroider feet.

For Padding, cut lining material slightly smaller than crocheted pieces. Tack to wrong side of one piece, then complete potholder according to directions. Sew Front and Back pieces together. With Black sc closely around bone ring. Sew to top.

Fast and Easy Heart Pincushion Crochet Pattern

Materials: Lily Knitting and Crochet Cotton Yarn, Art. 600, in Tea Rose and Cream. Crochet hook size 0.

Center of Heart: In Tea Rose, ch 2, making 1st st twice usual length, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 7 tr, 2 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc) in the first (long) st.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, skip sc, 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, (2 hdc in next) twice, (2 dc in next) twice, 5 dc in next, (2 dc in next) twice, (2 hdc in next) twice, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, sl st in next.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, skip sl st, (sc in 2 sts, 2 sc in next) 3 times, hdc in 2 sts, dc in 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, dc in 2 sts, hdc in 2 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in 2 sts) 3 times.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, skip last sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 hdc in next st, (1 dc in next, 2 dc in next) 7 times, 3 dc in next st, (2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next) 7 times, 2 hdc in next st, sc in 2 sts, sl st in next.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, skip sl st, sc in 2 sts, hdc in 2 sts, (2 dc in next st, dc in 3 sts) 3 times, dc in 10 sts, 5 dc in next st, dc in 13 sts, (2 dc in next st, dc in 3 sts) twice, 2 dc in next st, hdc in 2 sts, sc in 2 sts. Fasten off.

Edge: Join Cream down into center starting st, ch 5, sc up in 1st sc of last row, (ch 3, sc in next 2d st) 31 times, ch 2, sl st in 3d st of 5-ch.

Row 2: Ch 5, sc in next 3-ch loop, (ch 3, sc in next loop) 15 times, ch 5, sc in same loop, (ch 3, sc in next loop) 15 times, ch 2, sl st in 3d st of 5-ch.

Row 3: Ch 4 and sc all in next loop; repeat around. Fasten off.

Trim: In Cream, * Ch 4, (3 dc, ch 3, sl st) in 4th ch st from hook. Repeat from * twice. Sl st at base of 1st petal. Fasten off. Sew on 1st Row of Heart. Cut cardboard ¼ inch smaller than Heart, cover back with cloth, pad front 1 inch high with cotton and cover with cloth. Tack to back of Heart. Fasten a ribbon bow at top with loop for hanging.

Easy 1940's Crochet Shrug - free crochet pattern


Materials: Columbia Princess Yarn (1 ounce ball)—10 Balls. 1 Composition Crochet Hook-Standard Size 6. 6 inch

Pattern Stitch: Multiple of 6 sts plus 4.

Make Chain

Row 1: 1 Dc in 4th ch from hook, * work ½ knot st (draw up ch on hook for ½ inch loop, draw yarn thru loop and work 1 sc in back strand of loop), skip 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch, work ½ knot st as before, skip 2 ch., 1 puff st. (yarn over and draw up a loop 3 times ) in next st, yo and thru all loops on hook, ch 1, repeat from * across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: 1 sc in last puff st * ½ knot st, 1 puff st in next sc ½ knot st 1 sc in next puff st, repeat from * across, ending 1 sc in last st, ch 3, turn.

Row 3: 1 Puff st in last sc * ½ knot st, 1 sc in puff st, ½ knot st, 1 puff st in next sc, repeat from * across ch 1, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern.


SHRUG: Ch 94, work in pattern st for 50 inches, ending with row 3 of pattern st, ch 1, then work Border at side as follows:

Row 1: * 1 sc in puff st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 loops, repeat from * across side edge, ch 1, turn.

Rows 2 & 3: 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn, ending row 3, ch 3, turn.

Row 4: 1 Tr in each st, ch 1, turn.

Rows 5 - 6: 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn.

Row 7: (Knot st edge) Work 1 sc in first st, * draw up a 1 inch loop, draw yarn thru loop, 1 sc thru back strand of loop st, draw up a 1 inch loop, draw yarn thru loop, work 1 sc thru back strand of loop, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * across row.

Work Border and knot st edge at other side of Shrug.

CUFF: Row 1: Work 5 sc across end of side Border, 1 sc in puff st, 1 sc in next sc (between puff sts) repeat from * across, ending 5 sc across Border, (about 40 sts across row). Now repeat from Row 2 of Side Border, ending with Row 7. Work other Cuff to correspond.

Sew Cuff seams.

Free Potholder Crochet Pattern - Pink Pig



Materials: J.& P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, Art. A.64: 2 balls of No. 65 Beauty Pink and 1 ball of No. 12 Black. Milwards Steel Crochet Hooks No. 4 and 7. Bone or plastic ring.

Body Front: Starting at back end with a double strand of Beauty Pink and No. 4 hook, ch 12. 1st Row: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd - 15th Rows: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn (40 sc on 15th row). 16th - 30th Rows: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 31st Row: Dec 1 sc - to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc - sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn. 32nd Row: Repeat 16th row. Repeat the last 2 rows until 18 sts remain. Now dec 1 sc at both ends of every row until 12 sts remain. Break off.


Snout: Starting at center with single strand of Black and No. 7 hook, ch 8. 1st Rnd: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, 2 sc in last ch; working along opposite side of starting chain, make sc in each remaining ch across. 2nd Rnd: Sc in each sc around, increasing 2 sc evenly on each end. Repeat 2nd rnd until piece measures 1 3/4" long. Break off and sew in place.


Nostrils (Make 2): Starting at center with single strand of Beauty Pink and No. 7 hook, ch 2,
8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join and break off. Sew in place on Nose.


Eye: Starting at center with black and No. 7 hook, ch 2.
1st Rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
2nd Rnd: * 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. Sew in place. With a single strand of Black embroider a circle around eye and outline of an ear.


Mouth: With Black and No. 7 hook, ch 4.
1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd Row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
3rd Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn.
4th Row: Repeat 2nd row.
5th Row: Dec 1 sc. Break off. Sew in place.


Back: Work exactly as for Front.


Padding: Cut lining material slightly smaller than crocheted pieces. Tack to wrong side of one piece. With wrong sides facing and working through both thicknesses, attach a double strand of Beauty Pink and with No. 4 hook, sc closely around potholder. Join and break off.


Foot: Using a double strand of Beauty Pink and No. 4 hook, ch 7.
1st Row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd - 3rd Rows: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
4th Row: Sc in next 3 sc. Ch 1, turn.
5th Row: Repeat 2nd row.
6th Row: Dec 1 sc, sc in next sc. Ch 1, turn.
7th Row: Dec 1 sc. Break off. Attach thread to first free sc on 3rd row. Repeat 4th - 7th rows. Break off. Make another piece in same way. Sew 2 pieces together. Sew in place. Make another foot in same manner and sew in place.

Tail: With a single strand of Black and No. 7 hook, ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring.
1st Rnd: Sc in each ch around.
2nd Rnd: Sc in each sc around. Repeat 2nd rnd until piece measure 4". Join and break off. Twist Tail to form a loop. Tack loop in place. Sew Tail to potholder. With Black, sc closely around bone ring. Sew in place.
